Jeera down on good weather, overseas demand weighs
MUMBAI, Nov 13 (Reuters) - India jeera futures ended as favourable weather in the growing regions weighed on sentiment, analysts said.
"With the cyclone threat having receded in jeera-growing regions, jeera futures came under pressure, since current weather is favourable for the crops," said Chowda Reddy, an analyst with JRG Wealth Management.
Losses, were, however, limited by support from firm overseas demand, analysts said.
Jeera exports in September nearly tripled to 6,000 tonnes from the same period a year ago as leading global producers Syria and Turkey continue to quote at a premium to Indian prices.
Spot jeera fell by over 30 rupees to end at 13,145 rupees per 100 kg in Unjha, a major trading hub in Gujarat.
