MUMBAI, June 6 (Reuters) - Indian newspapers carried the following stories in their print or Web editions on Friday. Reuters has not verified these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.

ECONOMIC TIMES (www.economictimes.com)

* European buyers have blacklisted 38 Vietnamese cashew exporters for contract defaults that could help Indian exporters in the short term.

* Wild honey collection in the Kutch region of Gujarat has fallen to 50 tonnes from 300 tonnes last year because of the disappearance of honey bees. The yield of certain native crops like date palms, lemon, papaya and kesar mangoes have also halved. Air pollution and the felling of a local bush variety is responsible for the diminishing bee population in the region.

FINANCIAL EXPRESS (www.financialexpress.com)

* Good onion crops in Maharashtra and Karnataka and the lowering of the minimum export price (MEP) for June has brightened export prospects. The low MEP will give India an edge over competitors Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
