Indian state firms to buy rice on commercial terms
NEW DELHI, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Indian state trading companies will import rice only on commercial terms, Farm Minister Sharad Pawar said on Wednesday at the annual Economic Editors Conference.
India's MMTC Ltd (MMTC.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), PEC and State Trading Corp (STCI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) has issued tenders to import 10,000 tonnes of rice each as domestic output is set to fall after the worst monsoon in 37 years.
