MUMBAI, July 4 (Reuters) - India's state-run National Aluminium Co Ltd (NALU.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) plans to sell 30,000 tonnes of alumina through a tender issued on Thursday, a source said.

The tender, which will close on July 17, is for deliveries in August, the source said. NALCO's tenders usually serve as a price benchmark internationally.

The highest bid for its last tender was $457.57 a tonne, the source said. This year, the firm expects to sell a total of 300,000 tonnes of alumina through 10 spot tenders, he said. (Reporting by Biman Mukherji; Editing by Mark Williams)
