Soccer-Brazilian Dido to coach Bangladesh
DHAKA, Dec 31 (Reuters) - Bangladesh have appointed Brazilian Edson Silva Dido as national soccer coach on a one-year contract, the Bangladesh Football Federation said on Wednesday.
The former Vietnam coach will take charge in the first week of February and lead Bangladesh in the AFC Challenge Cup in April, said the BFF.
Dido, who is also a Dutch citizen, played as a midfielder for Brazilian clubs Flamengo and Santos in the 1980s and moved to Israel in 1995 as a player before becoming a coach.
Bangladesh are 174th in the FIFA world rankings.
