--- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has proposed a separate adaptation fund and technology and capacity-building supports for the countries most vulnerable to the climate change, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives, reports news agency UNB.

--- The World Bank has asked Bangladesh to put on hold all local procurement activities under WB-financed projects since the amendments made to the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2006 are not consistent with its procurement guidelines.

--- A government report suggested rationalisation of the rates of return of saving instruments as the high cost borrowing tool has caused huge stock piling of idle money for the government.

--- The much-awaited national pay scale for public servants will be placed before the cabinet meeting today (Wednesday) for final approval, the Finance Minister disclosed Tuesday, reports news agency UNB.
