(Corrects to show tender to be issued on Thursday and to close on July 26)
KARACHI, July 10 (Reuters) - Pakistan is to issue a tender on Thursday for 250,000 tonnes of wheat from any origin, a trade source said.
"Shipment is likely for the end of August or early September," said the trade source, adding the tender would close on July 26.
The state-run Trading Corporation of Pakistan, which issues tenders, was not immediately available for comment.
The TCP recently bought 516,000 tonnes of wheat at $409.88 a tonne, cost and freight included.
Pakistan plans to import a total of 2.5 million tonnes of wheat this year for buffer stocks after domestic output from the 2007/08 crop fell to 21.8 million tonnes, compared with a target of 24 million tonnes.
Annual domestic consumption is about 23 million tonnes. (Reporting by Sahar Ahmed; Editing by Robert Birsel)
