DAWN

-- Security agencies have arrested two of the highest ranking Punjabi Taliban commanders, who are believed to have masterminded an attack on the army's headquarters and other high-profile strikes in Lahore.

THE NEWS

-- Security forces continued consolidating positions in parts of South Waziristan, as another 24 militants were killed in an ongoing military offensive in the region.

-- Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the Kerry-Lugar bill serves Pakistan's interests by promoting its relations with the world's sole superpower.
