Cricket-Akmal and Butt punish Bangladesh in 3rd ODI
LAHORE, April 13 (Reuters) - Openers Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt hit contrasting centuries to power Pakistan to 308 for eight against Bangladesh in the third one-day international at Gaddafi stadium on Sunday.
Akmal (100) blazed his way to his first one-day hundred since December 2005 from only 80 balls while Butt (132) took 106 balls to score his first century against an opponent other than India.
Butt was finally dismissed in the 49th over, caught by keeper Dhiman Ghosh off Mashrafe Mortaza having batted for 127 balls. He hit 15 fours.
Wicketkeeper Akmal batted in a more cavalier fashion, carving out his hundred by the 24th over.
He was out the next ball after completing his century, bowled trying to cut off spinner Mahmudullah Riad as Pakistan lost four wickets in the space of 36 runs and slipped from 151 for no loss to 187 for four.
Pakistan lead the five-match series 1-0.
