PARIS, Nov 4 (Reuters) - The global sugar deficit is forecast to narrow to 5-7 million tonnes in 2009/10 (Oct.-Sept.) from a deficit of 9.9 million tonnes in 2008/09, Stefan Uhlenbrock, F.O. Licht's senior commodity analyst, told Reuters on Wednesday.

He said a rise in Indian sugar output would contribute to the smaller deficit.

Uhlenbrock's comments are Licht's first forecast for the 2009/10 global sugar balance.

Uhlenbrock was speaking on the sidelines of the Nov. 2-5 World Ethanol 2009 conference.
