NEW DELHI/SINGAPORE, Feb 24 (Reuters) - India's Reliance Industries Ltd (RELI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) plans to partially shut its 660,000 barrels day (bpd) refinery for at least two weeks for routine maintenance in May-June, trade sources said on on Tuesday.

The firm is expected to shut a 325,000-bpd crude distillation unit (CDU) and a near 100,000-bpd diesel hydro desulphurisation unit for maintenance, a trade source familiar with the operations said.

He said a vacuum gas oil hydrotreater could also be shut down for maintenance.

"It will be for a minimum period of two weeks and the period can be extended depending on the job," he said.

"Reliance will shut a CDU and related downstream units for turnaround in May-June. The dates have not been finalised as yet," said another trader. The refinery has another CDU of the same size which will remain open.

Reliance has another refinery, the new 580,000-bpd facility owned by subsidiary Reliance Petroleum RPET.BO that was commissioned in end-December and located next to the 660,000-bpd complex in Jamnagar in western Gujarat state.
