Nov 16 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1730 GMT on Monday.

* KAPISA - Five civilians were killed and 28 wounded when Taliban insurgents fired three rockets into a busy market in the Tagab valley in Kapisa province, about 75 km (45 miles) northeast of Kabul, Kapisa police chief General Matiullah Safi said. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said in a statement it had reports that four Afghans were killed and more than 40 wounded.

* HELMAND - A British soldier was killed by a roadside bomb near Gereshk in southern Helmand province on Sunday, Britain's Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

KANDAHAR - Eight Afghan policemen were killed and three wounded when Taliban militants attacked their post in the Arghandab district of southern Kandahar province on Sunday, a police official said. A Taliban spokesman said their fighters killed 12 officers.

KABUL - Afghan and NATO-led troops killed six insurgents and detained 15 in several operations in various parts of the country on Sunday, the Afghan Defence Ministry said.

KANDAHAR - Three insurgents were killed when a roadside bomb they were planting exploded in Kandahar's Panjwai district on Sunday, the Defence Ministry said in a statement. It said one suspect was detained.

FARAH - Taliban insurgents beheaded two kidnapped Afghans in western Farah province on Sunday after accusing them of assisting the government, police chief Faqir Ahmad Askar said. Three others who had also been kidnapped were released, he said.
