* The government is considering a proposal to declare separate minimum support price and procurement price for crops. The move is under consideration after it was strongly recommended by the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, in a note to the Cabinet Committe on Economic Affairs.

* Fishermen in the south-Indian state of Kerala are being forced to sell their produce at rock-bottom prices due to frequent power cuts at the state's 220 ice-making units pushing up prices of ice blocks, which are necessary to preserve the catch and get better prices.
