NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said on Wednesday the government would take more steps to control inflation.

"We have taken measures. We will take measures (to contain inflation)," he told lawmakers in the upper house of parliament.

Headline inflation hit its highest in more than three years in late March at an annual 7.41 percent, but moderated to 7.33 percent in the second week of April.
