MUMBAI (Reuters) - A new Bollywood film will explore the differences in mindsets between people from cosmopolitan and rural India through the stories of young college students.

"Dil, Dosti, Etc" (Heart, Friendship, Etc), directed by Manish Tiwary, juxtaposes the liberal and conservative facets of Indian society with the help of two male characters Sanjay and Apurv.

While Sanjay is an old-fashioned boy from Bihar who is an idealist willing to get involved in politics to bring balance to the society, Apurv is a representative of a rich, directionless and disillusioned metropolitan youth.

"It is a film that explores the fun part of college life," said actress Nikita Anand, who plays the role of a rich model in the film. "It has a lot of dark humour and is about the disillusioned youth."

"The film shows how two people coming from different societies have different outlooks to life. Sanjay is very focused and serious about his work but Apurv is very casual. Everything new is like a discovery for him."

"Dil, Dosti, Etc" is scheduled to release on September 28 this year.
