Oasis lose out at Q magazine music awards
LONDON (Reuters Life!) - British rockers Muse beat recently disbanded Oasis to Q magazine's Best Act in the World Today award on Monday.
Songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallagher announced he was quitting Oasis two months ago, but the Manchester band was still nominated for the award alongside Muse, Coldplay, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys.
Oasis also lost out in the Best Live Act category, which was won by the Arctic Monkeys.
Best New Act was won by White Lies, Breakthrough Artist went to Mr Hudson, Best Video was awarded to Lady GaGa for "Just Dance" and Lily Allen scooped Best Track with "The Fear".
"Q remains proud of the fact that its awards recognising musical achievement and excellence during the past 12 months are decided by the nation's music fans, who once again have voted in their thousands," said Q's editor-in-chief Paul Rees.
