U.S. Senate confirms Massad as new CFTC chairman

WASHINGTON, June 3 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed Treasury Department official Timothy Massad to be chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Senators also confirmed Chris Giancarlo, a swaps industry veteran, as a member of the five-person commission. Both were approved by a voice vote in the Senate. (Reporting by Emily Stephenson; Editing by Chris Reese)
