Bharti AXA starts India operations, launches 2 funds

MUMBAI, July 8 (Reuters) - Bharti AXA Investment Managers launched two fixed income funds on Tuesday, starting operations in the 34-member Indian mutual fund industry.

The funds, Bharti AXA Liquid Fund and Bharti AXA Treasury Plus, will be open for initial subscription till July 14, the firm said in a statement.

The fund firm, a joint venture between India's Bharti Enterprises and AXA Investment Managers and AXA Asia Pacific Holdings (AXA.AX: Quote, Profile, Research), had received regulatory approval to commence operations in April.

AXA Investment Managers and AXA Asia Pacific Holdings are units of French insurer AXA (AXAF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research). (Reporting by Nishant Kumar; editing by Sunil Nair)
