American Cink leads by two after third round at Tampa Bay
MIAMI (Reuters) - American Stewart Cink retained a two-shot lead after the weather-delayed third round of the Tampa Bay Championship was wrapped up at Palm Harbour on Sunday.
Six players were still out on the course when play was halted in fading light the previous day but none of them was able to trim Cink's advantage early on Sunday morning.
Cink, a four-times PGA Tour winner, took control of the tournament by firing a superb two-under-par 69 in gusting winds on Saturday and heads the field at five-under 208 going into Sunday's final round.
Australia's Geoff Ogilvy, the 2006 U.S. Open champion, matched Cink's 69 to lie second at three under, level with Americans Brandt Snedeker (73) and Billy Mayfair (71).
Second-round leader Snedeker and Mayfair were among those who had to return to the Copperhead Course on Sunday morning but both parred the last three holes to remain at three under.
Americans Tom Pernice junior and Sean O'Hair were a further stroke back in a tie for fifth after returning 71s on Saturday.
