Geographically, the best performing regions of the

shoes, jewelry, women's shoes, and handbags. The

central region and slightly below trend in western

American Gap and Banana Republic stores and off 12
percent at Old Navy stores. At stores overseas,

at Victoria's Secret and 8 percent at Bath & Body
Works, but rose 5 percent at the company's La Senza

percent, while they increased 7 percent and 1
percent, respectively at the abercrombie and
Hollister stores. They fell 12 percent at RUEHL
stores. The strongest men's categories included knit
and fleece tops, graphic T-shirts and fragrance,
while pants and activewear were weakest. Among the
women's categories, shorts, jeans and accessories
were strongest, while knit tops and graphic T-shirts

percent, while they increased 16.5 percent at its
Torrid plus-size chain. Chico's FAS (CHS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) -12.0 -15.5 -4.5 $142.0 mln April same-store sales fell 19 percent at the Chico's
chain and 11 percent at the White House/Black Market
chain. Soma Intimates same-store sales rose. American Eagle (AEO.N: Quote, Profile, Research) -0.6 2.0 15.0 $197.7 mln April sales reflected an improvement in store
traffic, more seasonal weather and the arrival of the

Comps were strongest in Texas, New England and
the mid-Atlantic region and weakest in
the desert southwest, southern California, Florida
