June 17 (Reuters) - Following is a summary of firm orders and commitments for planemakers during the first two days of the Paris Air Show.
As expected, orders have fallen sharply since last year as airlines struggle with lower traffic and tightened credit.
AIRBUS
Malaysian low-cost airline AirAsia (AIRA.KL: Quote, Profile, Research) ordered 10 A350-900s worth $2.4 billion, with an option for five more worth $1.2 billion. [ID:nWEA7005]
Qatar Airways signed an order for 24 A320-family aircraft from Airbus (EAD.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) worth about $1.9 billion at list prices. The contract includes four orders for A321 planes announced last year and 20 new orders for A320 aircraft. [ID:nLF470716]
Vietnam Airlines made a firm order for 16 A321s worth $1.4 billion and a provisional order for two A350-900s worth $480 million. [ID:nWEA6987]
