MADRID, April 1 (Reuters) - Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling (VULG.MC: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday it had agreed to start merger talks with rival Clickair.

Vueling said the two airlines had agreed to start a study to reach an agreement on a business plan, the structure of a possible deal, the values of each party and the scheme of corporate governance of a merged airline.

The study would be carried out in the coming weeks, Vueling said. It added that the merger would be on equal terms and any resulting airline would be based in Barcelona. (Reporting by Ben Harding; Editing by Chang-Ran Kim)
