Scotiabank's Chile unit issues $183 mln in bonds
SANTIAGO, March 13 (Reuters) - The Chilean unit of Canada's Scotiabank auctioned an 8-year bond offering worth some $183 million on the Santiago Stock Exchange on Thursday, according to a statement issued through the exchange.
The issue, worth 4 million UF -- Chile's inflation-adjusted currency units, has a duration of 4.08 years and a coupon rate of 3 percent. The bonds were sold at 102.04 percent face value, the statement said.
Late last year, Scotiabank (BNS.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) acquired Chile's Banco del Desarrollo as part of its goal to control a 10 percent share of Chile's banking industry. (1UF = 19,776.63 pesos) ($1 = 432 pesos)
