W.House adviser: US recession still not broken-NBC
WASHINGTON, June 28 (Reuters) - A top White House adviser said on Sunday the U.S. economy was still under pressure and if a second stimulus package was needed to aid growth it could be discussed.
"We have not broken the back of the recession," senior adviser David Axelrod told NBC Television's Meet the Press program.
"Let's see in the fall where we are, but right now we believe what we have done is adequate to the task. If more is needed, we'll have that discussion," he said in answer to a question about whether a second stimulus package was needed. (Reporting by Alister Bull, editing by Mohammad Zargham)
