BRUSSELS, July 3 (Reuters) - The following are planned mergers under review by the European Commission and a brief guide to the EU merger process:
APPROVALS AND WITHDRAWALS:
-- U.S. firm Safran USA, controlled by French aerospace company Safran SA (SAF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research), to acquire joint control of U.S. detection products company General Electric Homeland Protection, currently controlled by U.S. company General Electric (GE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) (approved)
NEW LISTINGS:
-- U.S. private equity firm Platinum Equity LLC to acquire control of parts of bankrupt U.S. auto components maker Delphi Corp (DPHIQ.PK: Quote, Profile, Research) (notified June 30/deadline Aug. 5)
