Boeing expects missile-defense job through 2013
WASHINGTON, March 25 (Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday it expected to be awarded a sole-source deal to continue developing the hub U.S. missile-defense system through 2013.
Boeing officials, speaking to reporters, declined to estimate the value of follow-on missile-defense work for the Pentagon.
The U.S. Missile Defense Agency, in an announcement to industry on Friday, said Boeing, the current prime contractor for the ground-based mid-course system, was the "only qualified source to perform this completion effort within cost and schedule constraints," according to the statement made public by Boeing.
