US FDA warns TLC, LCA clinics over reporting issue
WASHINGTON, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Several TLC Vision Corp (TLC.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) (TLCV.O: Quote, Profile, Research) and LCA Vision Inc (LCAV.O: Quote, Profile, Research) clinics are among 17 LASIK eye surgery facilities warned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration about side-effect reporting problems, the agency said on Thursday.
TLC clinics in McLean, Virginia; Sewickley, Pennsylvania; and Edgewater and Rockville, Maryland received letters. LCA Vision centers that were warned include those in Edina and Maple Grove, Minnesota, as well as Rockville.
The FDA said the inspections did not reveal any problems with the LASIK devices themselves. (Reporting by Susan Heavey; Editing by Tim Dobbyn)
