LONDON, July 24 (Reuters) - The insurance bill from Hurricane Dolly, which hit southwest Texas, is likely to be less than $750 million, disaster modelling firm RMS said on Thursday.

The Category 2 storm hit a sparsely populated part of Texas and missed Brownsville, while also skimming past several oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, causing minimal damage, which meant that insured losses remain relatively low, RMS said. (Reporting by Simon Challis)
