Greek unemployment reaches new record in August, at 25.4 pct

ATHENS, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Greece’s jobless rate scaled a new record of 25.4 percent in August from a revised 24.8 percent in July, the country’s statistics service ELSTAT said on Thursday.

A crippling, austerity-fuelled recession continued to take its toll on the labour market, putting Greek unemployment at more than double the euro zone average of 11.5 percent in ugust.
