LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Amanda Bynes is returning to series television as one of the stars of ABC's comedy pilot "Canned," about a group of friends, including who are fired in a corporate shake-up.

Bynes' character is a naive Midwestern girl who often spent nights at the office to get her work done. The actress shot to fame as a tween star on Nickelodeon. She moved into broadcast TV with her WB comedy series "What I Like About You."

Her feature credits include "Hairspray" and "She's the Man." She most recently co-starred opposite Harry Connick Jr. in the Lifetime movie "Living Proof."
