LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star in "Source Code," a sci-fi thriller to be directed by Duncan Jones ("Moon").

The project centers on a soldier who wakes up in the body of a commuter and must solve the mystery of a train explosion. Shooting is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.

Summit Entertainment will release the film in North America.

Gyllenhaal returns to theaters on December 4 in Lionsgate's drama remake "Brothers." Jones, the son of David Bowie, won acclaim for his astronaut movie "Moon," starring Sam Rockwell.
