Indian shares rise 3.3 pct, Reliance Comm jumps
NEW DELHI, July 9 (Reuters) - India's main stock index rose more than 3 percent early on Wednesday, led by gains in index heavyweights Reliance Industries (RELI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) and ICICI bank (ICBK.BO: Quote, Profile, Research).
Shares in No. 2 mobile firm Reliance Communications (RLCM.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) jumped 5.6 percent to 438.80 rupees after the deadline for exclusive talks for a tie-up with South Africa's MTN (MTNJ.J: Quote, Profile, Research) ended on Tuesday with no announcement. [ID:nBOM27718].
At 9:56 a.m. (0426 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was up 3.33 percent, or 444.57 points, at 13,794.22 with all its components gaining.
