India to deal with confidence vote from Aug 11
NEW DELHI, July 8 (Reuters) - India's foreign minister said on Tuesday that the government will convene a session of parliament starting on Aug. 11 to take up a vote of no confidence after the withdrawal of its communist allies.
The exact date will be decided later after a formal communication from the president.
"The Parliament will start from August 11. This session will dispose off the vote of confidence motion," Pranab Mukherjee told reporters.
Communist parties that have provided the Indian government with a parliamentary majority for four years said on Tuesday they were withdrawing their support in protest against a civilian nuclear deal with the United States. (Reporting by Krittivas Mukherjee)
