Nikkei flat, exporters up on softer yen

TOKYO, May 14 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei share average was flat on Wednesday, as rises in exporters such as Canon Inc (7751.T: Quote, Profile, Research) on a softer yen against the dollar were offset by a decline in Tokyo Electron Ltd (8035.T: Quote, Profile, Research) on its weak outlook.

As of 0005 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei average .N225 was at 13,954.04. The broader TOPIX index fell 0.04 percent to 1,359.50. (Reporting by Taiga Uranaka)
