Indian rupee strengthens beyond 42/dlr as oil eases
MUMBAI, July 24 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee strengthened past 42 per dollar on Thursday for the first time in more than two months, helped by lower oil prices and expected further gains in local shares.
At 9.02 a.m. (0332 GMT), the partially convertible rupee INR=IN was at 41.93/94 per dollar, its highest since May 13. On Wednesday, it had ended at 42.09/10. (Reporting by V. Ramakrishnan; Editing by John Mair)
