Indian shares provisionally close down 0.2 pct

MUMBAI, July 2 (Reuters) - Indian shares ended down 0.16 percent in volatile trade on Thursday as investors awaited the government's budget next week.

The 30-share BSE Index .BSESN provisionally closed down 22.95 points at 14,622.52 points.

The 50-share NSE index .NSEI provisionally dropped 0.03 percent to 4,339.40. (Reporting by Prashant Mehra)
