  Jul 01 (Reuters) - Following is the weather report
detailed by India Meteorological Department
CHIEF FEATURES
(Based on 0830 hours IST observations)
Yesterday's upper air cyclonic circulation over East Uttar
Pradesh & adjoining areas of north Madhya Pradesh persists and
extending upto 3.1 km a.s.l. Under its influence, fairly
widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls  is
likely over East Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh and north
Chhattisgarh during next 48 hours.
The off shore trough extends from Gujarat coast to Kerala
coast with embedded cyclonic circulation over northeast Arabian
Sea.  Under this scenario, widespread rainfall with heavy to
very heavy falls at a few places is likely over Konkan & Goa,
south Gujarat Region and Saurashtra during next 48 hours.
Fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy
falls also likely over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka,
Kerala and Lakshadweep during the same period.
The axis of the trough at sea level passes through
Anoopgarh, Delhi, Kanpur, Hazaribag, Midnapore and thence
southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Forecast valid
upto 0830 hours IST of 4th July, 2008

rest regions. EAST INDIA [EAST UP, JHARKHAND, BIHAR, ORISSA,,
WEST BENGAL & SIKKIM]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places  over Bihar,
Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal & Sikkim.
Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places  over the
rest region. NORTHEAST INDIA [Arunachal Pradesh, NMM & T, 
Assam, Meghalaya,]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places  over the
region. SOUTH INDIA [TN, AP, KERALA,, KARNATAKA, LAKSHADWEEP,
ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places  over Andaman
& Nicobar Islands, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep
and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.
Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely over the rest
region. WEST INDIA [GOA, MAHARASHTRA (OTHER THAN VIDARBHA),
GUJARAT, RAJASTHAN]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at most places over Konkan &
Goa, south Gujarat Region and Saurashtra.
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over  Madhya
Maharashtra and at a few places over East Rajasthan and north
Gujarat Region.
Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely over the rest
region. CENTRAL INDIA [M.P., CHHATTISGARH, VIDARBHA]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over north
Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh and at a few places over
the rest region. Warning (next 48 hours):
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places likely over
Konkan & Goa, south Gujarat Region and Saurashtra.
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over
northeastern states, East Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh,
Madhya Maharashtra, north Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka,
Kerala and Lakshadweep. Weather Outlook from 0830 IST of  4th  
July to 0830 IST of 6th   July, 2008 (Based on numerical
weather products):
Decrease in rainfall activity over west coast .
Subdued rainfall activity is likely to continue over
interior peninsula. Note: 'TRACE' means that rain fell but
