Jul 01 (Reuters) - Following is the weather report detailed by India Meteorological Department
CHIEF FEATURES
(Based on 0830 hours IST observations)
Yesterday's upper air cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh & adjoining areas of north Madhya Pradesh persists and extending upto 3.1 km a.s.l. Under its influence, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely over East Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh during next 48 hours.
The off shore trough extends from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast with embedded cyclonic circulation over northeast Arabian Sea. Under this scenario, widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places is likely over Konkan & Goa, south Gujarat Region and Saurashtra during next 48 hours. Fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls also likely over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep during the same period.
The axis of the trough at sea level passes through Anoopgarh, Delhi, Kanpur, Hazaribag, Midnapore and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Forecast valid upto 0830 hours IST of 4th July, 2008
