Tata Consultancy opens delivery center in China

MUMBAI, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (TCS.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) opened a 300-seat global delivery center in Tianjin in China to support local businesses as well as business process outsourcing (BPO) for the Japan, US and Europe, it said.

This is TCS' fourth delivery centre in China after Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou, it added. The company has also opened an office in Shenzen, India's top software services exporter said.

Its China operation currently employs 1,300 employees, it said in a statement.

TCS shares closed 6.96 percent down at 482.60 rupees in a weak Mumbai market.
