India finmin: may cut excise duty to boost output

NEW DELHI, Nov 18 (Reuters) - India may consider cutting excise duties for some items, Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said on Tuesday as part of efforts to boost factory output and lift economic growth.

But he said companies in the real estate, airline, hotel and two-wheeler sectors must cut prices to boost demand. (Reporting by Manoj Kumar and Devidutta Tripathi, Editing by Mark Williams)
