-- Several banks have been raising interest rates on dong deposits to above 15 percent per year to attract more funds.

-- Shares in the banking sector slightly recovered on the unofficial markets this week and there has no longer been panic selling, even some shares are in high demand, Sacombank Securities said.

-- The State Securities Commission has asked brokerages to temporarily stop signing new repo contracts as the stock market has been in the declining trend and regulations related to the transactions on repo contracts are still being drafted.
