Govt defers oil, gas block auction to December

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Govt will launch its next auction of oil and gas exploration blocks in December, deferring by a month an earlier plan to begin the process in November, Oil Secretary M.S. Srinivasan said on Thursday.

"Because the parliament session has been advanced to mid-November, we have now decided to launch it (the auction) in December," he told reporters.

Overseas roadshows for the next licencing round will take place in January and February.
