MUMBAI (Reuters) - Playing the Rajput consort of Mughal emperor Akbar in "Jodhaa Akbar" was no walk in the park for actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan -- thanks to the heavy jewellery and costumes she wore for the part.

"I'm amazed how lifestyles of the queens were. It must have taken them hours to get ready," said the 34-year-old former Miss World.

"It was a tiring experience sometimes to go through the entire process of putting on the jewellery and wearing the dresses," she said.

"But I was thrilled to be part of the royal experience."

The film, which opens on Feb. 15, will feature Bachchan wearing traditional silk outfits and jewellery of the era.

The actress, who is paired opposite Hrithik Roshan, will also be seen wielding a sword against him in a fight sequence.

"I loved doing those sword fights, it got me excited and I enjoyed it thoroughly," she said.
