Baseball - Taiwan baseball chief to explain flop to fans

BEIJING (Reuters) - Taiwan's top baseball official said he would explain to an angry public next week why his team fell to an embarrassing upset defeat to China in the Olympics and was eliminated from medal competition.
"We see that China has made so much progress and why haven't we progressed?" Chinese Taipei Baseball Association president Alex Huang told Reuters.
"I will give a report on who should take responsibility," he said, not ruling out forced resignations. "We need to give all of our baseball fans an explanation."
Chinese Taipei, the Taiwan team's official name, is considered the third strongest team in Asia after Japan and South Korea. But it has lost four of five Olympic games, including an 8-7 defeat to traditionally weak China on Friday.
