MADRID (Reuters) - A jet breaking the sound barrier caused two loud blasts which jolted people in the southern Spanish holiday city of Malaga on Friday, the government said.

"It was very loud and it sounded like a bomb, but it's a false alarm," a government spokesman said.

The scare came just days after the government blamed Basque rebels ETA for killing a soldier and injuring at least 12 people in three bomb attacks in northern Spain.
