Japan econ min: U.S. economy has not bottomed out yet
TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese Economics Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi on Friday expressed concern about the U.S. economy and said it needed close monitoring.
"As I said yesterday, the U.S. economy has not bottomed out yet," Hayashi told a news conference after a cabinet meeting.
"We must watch this trend carefully," he said, following bleak U.S. jobs data released the previous day.
Hayashi said on Thursday that the U.S. economy was the biggest external concern for Japan's recovery.
