Rupee weakens, bond yields slip ahead of budget

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The rupee edged lower in early deals on Monday as investors pared positions ahead of the 2009/10 federal budget to be presented at 11 a.m.

At 9:07 a.m. (0337 GMT), the partially convertible rupee was at 47.96/97 per dollar, weaker than Friday's close of 47.89/91.

The 6.07 percent bond maturing in 2014 which was the most actively traded on Monday eased to 6.21 percent from 6.23 percent at the close on Friday.
