The 2010 Paris Motor Show opens on Thursday to the media and on Saturday to the public at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre in the south of the city.
Last time the Paris show was held, two years ago, it attracted more than 1.4 million visitors in its two-week run.
Around 30 new models will make their world premiere in Paris with some 50 car manufacturers and 330 parts makers taking part.
Here are details of the some of the models on display:
* AUDI :
-- The A7 Sportback: The large five-door model with the dynamically accentuated rear end brings together the sporty elegance of a coupe, the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon.
-- R8 GT
-- R8 V8 Spyder
* BENTLEY :
-- The new Continental GT - Revamped version - Unlike standard two-wheel-drive cars, the Continental GT benefits from an advanced all-wheel-drive system that captures all the power of the 12-cylinder engine.
-- Fiat 500 Twinair
-- Next generation Ford Focus
-- Coupe Genesis
Concept POP - The three-seater electric car boasts zero emissions and is aimed at young drivers. It measures three metres and would be the first Kia to enter the ultra-light market.
* LAND ROVER:
-- Range Rover Evoque is the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover to date, with 130g/km of CO2 emissions.
-- CT 200h Full Hybrid - first hybrid hatchback with CO2 emissions down to only 96g/km. Lexus hopes to sell 30,000 CT 200h a year in Europe.

Astra Sports-Tourer - The car is newly developed by Opel's design centre in Ruesselsheim, Germany, and will be built at the Ellesmere Port plant in Britain.
3008 Hybrid4 - This is the first light-duty diesel hybrid to come to the market. The mid-size crossover has a conventional 163-horsepower 2.0-litre diesel engine driving the front wheels and a 37-horsepower electric motor at the rear axle, which operates independently.
508 -- The new sedan is designed for the European and Chinese markets, a first for the carmaker.
iOn - The electric car based on partner Mitsubishi's iMiEV.
-- DeZir - The DeZir is powered by an electric motor mounted in a mid-rear position to optimise weight distribution. The vertically mounted 24kW/h lithium-ion battery is located behind the benchseat and provides the car with a range of 160km.
Latitude - The Latitude is based on the SM5 and built in South Korea by Renault Samsung Motors.

* VOLKSWAGEN :
Passat - VW is showing a sedan and an estate version of the Passat. The seveth-generation version retains the base of the current Passat and shares many parts, but the body is much more tightly drawn and has a nose along horizontal lines.
