PREVIEW-Mexico Nov gross fixed investment seen down 7.2 pct

Tue Feb 9, 2010 12:05am IST

WHAT: Gross fixed investment for November

WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 9:00 a.m. (1500 GMT)

REUTERS FORECAST: Median -7.2 percent year-on-year November vs -14.0 percent October. Twelve clients participated in the survey and the range was -4.0 percent to -12.5 percent.

FACTORS TO WATCH: A trend of declining investment is expected to have eased as Mexico recovers from a punishing recession that ended in the third quarter of last year.

The index of spending on machinery, equipment and construction improved in October but did not meet analysts expectations. A number that meets or beats analysts' expectations in November will boost confidence in an economic recovery that has seen declining unemployment in recent months.
