US STOCKS-Nasdaq rises 1 pct as techs rebound

NEW YORK, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Technology shares added gains on Friday, lifting the Nasdaq more than 1 percent, as investors snapped up shares in the downtrodden sector, but recession fears kept the broader S&P 500 market index flat.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 4.23 points, or 0.03 percent, at 12,251.23. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 1.31 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1,338.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 21.54 points, or 0.94 percent, at 2,314.57. (Reporting by Ellis Mnyandu; Editing by Kenneth Barry)
