Indian shares in narrow band as investors dither

STOCKS ON THE MOVE
* Balaji Telefilms Ltd (BLTE.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) fell 4 percent to 52.55 rupees after the television content producer said late on Thursday it has received a show cause-cum-demand notice for service tax dues of 635 million rupees.
* Rail wagons makers and operators, including Container Corp of India (CCRI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), Gateway Distriparks (GATE.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), Texmaco (TEXM.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) and Kalindee Rail (KALI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), were up 2-5 percent ahead of the federal rail budget, that could announce significant contracts for these companies.
* Construction firm Maytas Infra Ltd (MAIL.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) rose 2.1 percent to 69.30 rupees, after the company, linked to the founders of fraud-hit Satyam Computer (SATY.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), said it had worked out a debt restructuring package with its lenders.
